I owed Petersen Dean approx $32,000 and after the promised $10,000 tax break it would be $20,000, which was all I wanted to spend of the $76,000 equity KEEP YOUR HOME CALIFORNIA paid on my home loan in 2016. HERO tried to get all my equity but I refused their crooked Home Depot contractor and their air conditioning contractor. When I found out from H&R Block that Petersen Dean was deceiving me, Petersen Dean agreed to remove the solar panels. They would only receive $10,000 from me through HERO for the roof shingles. The real reason Petersen Dean filed the Mechanics Liens was they did the math:IF they paid $4000 for a LICENSED remediation contractor to clean the stucco powder from our air vents and rooms and repaired the electrical they damaged in my garage and paid Buildings & Safety for the permit they failed to get to alter my water heater...by the time they did the right thing they would probably have a few hundred dollars of profit instead of the $32,000 they would have gotten if HR Block had not revealed the tax credit scam.At the last minute, the week Petersen Dean had their employeeHelena Shiworking with me to arrange to remove the solar panels, Peterson Dean could not resist going for $500,000.00 instead of settling for $500.00.They knew they made my autistic son James sicker and they knew taking his home away might be too much for him, but they did it anyway because they though we wouldn't be able to get help in our condition. They knew our finances and that we had no money for a retainer to pay an attorney. Getting an attorney on contingency would be a miracle for this sort of case. They know the pro bono attorneys that work with the government Consumer Protection programs are overwhelmed by the sheer volume of these solar scam cases. The odds of them stealing a cool $500,000 for a $500 debt was good, so Petersen Dean took the low road and committed the crime of abuse of the Mechanics Lien process. They saw how ill James was. They used it as leverage. They mocked my cries for mercy. If James dies, Petersen Dean should go to jail for murder.
ROY GUTHRIE / HERO / RENOVATE AMERICA and his contractor thugs have trapped us with their FRAUDULENT INDUCEMENT SCAM and criminal misuse of MECHANICS LIENS. It's been like a home invasion, a false imprisonment that began in 2016 and badly hurt my autistic son. Now they want to dismiss and run from their own malicious case BC661918 to avoid having to testify before a jury.

Petersen Dean Roofing And Solar Routinely Abuses Mechanics Liens
Petersen Dean brags about their legal prowess. Petersen Dean knows how to game the system. I was warned that Petersen Dean might not properly serve me court documents but I didn't believe they would do something so stupid. They did. They lied to the court and maintained that they served me. I was never served the documents. All documents I have I purchased myself from the courthouse.
What to do if Petersen Dean puts a Mechanics Lien on your property?
When Petersen Dean puts liens on your property to coerce you into signing documents that will harm you, after you report them to the Contractor's State Licensing Board, send them a polite letter asking them to remove the invalid liens from your property.
It is an abuse of the Mechanics Lien process to use liens to bully customers into signing documents that will remove all their rights to sue Petersen Dean. Don't sign anything once your realize something is wrong. I am searching for an attorney who will help me on contingency. In the meantime I have reported Petersen Dean to government agencies.

RE: INVALID LIEN 20170093119
INVALID LIEN 29170093193
Dear Petersen Dean, Inc,
I was not served a copy of the two liens in question. I purchased copies from the courthouse in El Segundo, California via check and have the receipt.
Both liens are invalid because they do not adhere to the strict time frames and lien requirements.
Both liens are invalid because the job was abandoned by you on November 2, 2016.
The work and necessary repairs were not completed. The stucco powder you refused to hire Building Cleaning Services or any other reputable cleaning service to remove has drifted and contaminated the entire house making it uninhabitable. Numerous contractors interviewed to rebuild the kitchen refused to enter the house until the stucco powder is remediated as it made them instantly feel sick. I suffered a bloody nose, sore throat and burning eyes. My autistic son James developed a severe lung infection. Assurant Insurance paid for air quality testing of the entire house. The powder you refused to remove from my son’s room on November 2, 2016 has contaminated the air vents and the carpeting and is everywhere now. The mold remediation being done in the kitchen by Assurant was disrupted by your abandonment of the job on November 2, 2016 and put on hold until you made the air quality safe again, which you still have not done.
The solar panels are not in use. You agreed in writing to remove the solar panels after H&R Block examined your figures and determined that I would not receive ANY of the savings, that it was a tax credit scam. You did not remove the panels as agreed. The roof is creaking and you did not fix that or any of the items you previous agreed to repair. A complete list of everything you didn’t finish and left in disrepair is attached to the CSLB claim and is being verified by the Contractors State Licensing Board Case Number: SF20169935.
I hereby request that you immediately remove both of the invalid liens. If I have to hire an attorney to make you remove the invalid liens, I am instructed to remind you that I am entitled to be awarded all reasonable attorney fees.
Sincerely,
Jennifer E. Marshall

Exposing RENOVATE AMERICA and PETERSEN DEAN SOLAR
PETERSEN DEAN ROOFING AND SOLAR in partnership with RENOVATE AMERICA are taking homes away from US Citizens at an alarming rate. Government agencies and pro bono and contingency attorneys are swamped with homeowners who cannot afford and attorney to stop the theft of their homes, everything they have worked for all their lives.
The only way to protect yourself is never to do business with RENOVATE AMERICA, also known as the HERO PROGRAM. They promise to protect you, especially if you are a senior citizen. They claim to have a Senior Protection Department but it turns out just to be regular customer service and they chastise you if you report to them that their contractor is cheating. If you complain enough, they withdraw financing and let their crooked contractor take your home immediately via Mechanics Lien instead of stealing your home a year after the repair when the nasty truth surfaces that you are not in the tax bracket to get the deductions they promised would save you $10,000 or more.
Programs like RENOVATE AMERICA let their "vetted" contractors explain how you can do home repairs you thought you could not afford by paying via your property taxes.
The truth is, if you cannot afford to repair your home, you are not in the tax bracket to write off the repair expenses. RENOVATE AMERICA and their contractor PETERSEN DEAN know this and they know you won't find out until a year after the repair, when all the contracts are signed and you have no legal rights anymore.
This blog will reveal the criminal activities of HERO/RENOVATE AMERICA and PETERSEN DEAN ROOFING AND SOLAR to save people from getting hurt. If you are being hurt by these criminals, we will share our resources with you so you can seek help.
First step: Report PETERSEN DEAN to the CSLB, your Contractor's State Licensing Board. In California it is at CSLB.ca.gov
Second step: Report RENOVATE AMERICA to the CFPB, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau at ConsumerFinance.gov
More information to come.
This is Petersen Dean.
Petersen Dean is desperate for money and is an expert in using Mechanic Liens to seize and sell homes so fast that most seniors and disabled homeowners he targets don't have a fighting chance to find legal representation in time to stop him. Petersen Dean can turn a simple home repair into a nightmare for the homeowner and a gold mine for himself.
RENOVATE AMERICA is guilty of false advertising. RENOVATE AMERICA looks the other way when their contractors rip off homeowners. They are partners in crime with their contractors. They will not rescue. They will recede and watch PETERSEN DEAN steal your home via Mechanics Lien instead of resolving the dispute. The dispute is usually that PETERSEN DEAN did not finish the job or damaged property or covered up rotten wood instead of replacing it.
In future posts I will explain how PETERSEN DEAN terrorized me and my autistic son with sadistic threats and creepy suggestions.
Even people who work at PETERSEN DEAN are afraid of PETERSEN DEAN. PETERSEN DEAN does not care if their actions ruin lives and cause death. They operate like mobsters. If you are dealing with them, do not try to handle it alone. Talk to the police. Contact your City Attorney's Office. Ask for help. These are dangerous people. They care about getting as much money as fast they can, anyway they can. They do not care about human life.
PETERSEN DEAN offers many deals and discounts that "disappear" or expire. You are asked to LISTEN to offers instead of being given them in writing. You are told the savings will come a year later when the bill hits. They are long gone when the year is over and you find out the "savings" were verbal hogwash, that only millionaires would qualify for the tax breaks.
RENOVATE AMERICA/THE HERO PROGRAM tells you they have a Senior Citizen Protection Department. They do not. It is just a photo on the website. It does not exist. It's just regular customer service and they don't like complaints about their contractors. RENOVATE AMERICA told me that my financing with them "expired" after I reported their contractor to them.
More information to come. Stay tuned.
